Faith 101

The bible says that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence if things not seen. But what exactly does that mean in everyday language? True faith in God is based on your intimate relationship with Him and knowing who He is and how He operates. It's difficult to trust someone you don't know or know very little about. We build trust or distrust based on past experiences with people. What has your experiences with God been like? Does He keep His promise, is His word His bond? Do you have past situations that He has brought you through? Remind yourself of how He delivered you and exceeded your expectations. If you are a new Christian, when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you did so by faith, trusting that your sins were forgiven and that you were a new creation. That same child like faith will carry you through your Christian race to the finish line as an obedient, truly faithful servant of Christ.
